Mum and dad both did some weeding and dad watered in the greenhouses. Mum harvested salad leaf while dad cleaned the manure off the wheelbarrow then I realised that the onions could do with lifting so I lifted them and harvested a couple of courgettes. Dad also trimmed the grass, today my hay fever/cold was a bit bad and I had trouble keeping going.

We harvested the ripe tomatoes and filled a carrier bag, filled another with leaf salad and another with Calabrese and Cauliflower. I decided to harvest some potato since there is so much still to dig up and took about 6 foot from a row giving another bag sized pile of potatoes.

Sweetcorn, courgette, plums and a pear harvestedSunday 19th August
The weekend has been wet so we haven't been down until me and dad went towards end of the day today. Watered in the greenhouse, bent over onion tops, harvested courgettes, a pear that had fallen and the ripe plums (5 or so). The corn appears to be ready and 4 cobs have been brought home and look really good. The small pumpkins are turning orange from green slowly and some of the chilli peppers have turned bright red.

Wednesday 15th August
Mum and dad went down in the afternoon, watered, harvested courgettes, tomatoes, greenbeans, salad leaf and beetroot.

Sunday 12th August
Me, mum and dad went down in the afternoon and mum weeded and harvested some more. Me and dad moved the putrefying compost from the big stillages into the dalek compost bins that we set up yesterday. This way we can turn it easily and stop it reeking (and we have drainage holes in the polythene underneath now! We then set about putting the cow manure into the stillages but left the sides off so that we have two horse shoe shapes to put it into. This way we can make a third bin for it as well.

Dad cut the grass, weeded and hoed while mum harvested lettuce, courgette, beetroot and put the ones that had run to seed in the compost bin.
In the afternoon we went down again and put the compost bins in place with posts at either end, rope to secure them and a wire to help hook the rope tighter. Mum did lots of weeding and I harvested five carrots.
