Sunday 24th September
Me, mum and dad went down in the afternoon and lifted a row of the maincrop potatoes (Desiree). Filled 2.5 sacks and weighing in at 66kg of potatoes, most were free from slug damage and those that had some were separated out. We also lifted 3 parsnips, a couple of carrots and harvested some more courgettes. For the time of year it is still very warm and I had shorts and a T-shirt on even though I was taking it fairly easy with the digging I still got a real sweat on!

Saturday 16th September
Me and mum went down in the afternoon. We planted 32 lettuce (ATYR) in the greenhouse and a couple of 4 foot rows outside. We also planted about 10ft of spring cabbage (April) outside as the heat in the greenhouse is affecting the seedlings growth and some have died. We harvested some carrots, a parsnip, tomatoes, cucumbers, courgette, Callibrese, spinach, 3 pumpkins and put the three plants in the compost. The remaining cabbage were dug up and put on the fire as they had club root or were rotting (only 3 of them).
